knitting project: handwarmers

After a quick run down to a yarn store this afternoon to pick up a few more skeins of yarn, I succeeded in finishing my second handwarmer.
right handwarmer

left handwarmer

The pattern is the 'Men's Hand Warmers' pattern from Last-Minute Knitted Gifts by Joelle Hoverson, although I had to use different needles (#3s instead of #5s) to get the guage correct. I used yarn from Lana Grossa's 'Tender' series, a wool/microfiber/acrylic blend that was a little tricky to knit with but which I think made for some pretty nice handwarmers. (We'll see what I think the next time it snows.)

When I was visiting my family on Sunday one of my stepsisters admired the one handwarmer I had completed, and I offered to make a pair for her, too, so it's onward to handwarmers number three and four!
